The Bukunja Climbing Yam Presidium Community is adding value to its product

In several workshops the group is experimenting with the climbing yam in different ways. For the beginning flour is made from the dried yam, for which the group is improving on their drying technique. That flour can serve to make cakes, pancakes, crisps and porridge and eventually even more climbing yam products.

The focus now is on the preservation of the cakes and natural preservatives were added. The group will get the right recipe for a good tasting cake that you can keep for some days. Also the right mixture for porridge will be investigated.

Next time new improved ovens will be build and the results of the last workshop will be refined.
