The Slow Food International event, Terra Madre Salone del Gusto which happens every 2 years in Turin, Italy will be held in September from 26-30, 2024. This event brings together food producers, artisans, and delegates from around the globe with the focus of re-establishing and reinforcing the relationship between humans and nature.

12 delegates from Slow Food Uganda will join over 5000 delegates from 160 countries to participate in Terra Madre Salon Del Gusto 2024. Among the Slow Food Uganda delegation, we shall have food producers, agronomists, chefs, a Coffee Coalition representative, journalists, activists, a Slow Food Youth Network representative, and some of the staff.

The Terra Madre Salone del Gusto serves as a crucial platform for participants to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices related to food and cultures. Attendees will participate in a wide range of activities, including workshops, tastings, and discussions that address the pressing issues faced by food communities worldwide.

For Slow Food Uganda, this event is not only be an opportunity to represent the nation on an international stage but also a chance to connect with like-minded individuals and organizations dedicated to the principles of good, clean, and fair food. The delegates will return home equipped with new insights and inspirations to further their work in promoting sustainability and improving food systems in Uganda. As the countdown to this massive event continues, the delegation looks forward to contributing to the global conversation about food, culture, and the environment while celebrating the unique flavors and practices that define Uganda’s rich agricultural heritage.
