Slow Food Coffee Coalition

Slow Food Coffee Coalition

The Slow Food Coffee Coalition is a global initiative that aims to transform the coffee industry by promoting sustainable practices, transparency, and celebrating the cultural diversity inherent in coffee farming. The Slow Food Coffee Coalition nurtures relationships between individuals passionate about or professionally involved in coffee. It empowers farmers by increasing their representation and visibility, while also raising awareness among consumers about the identity and knowledge of coffee. The coalition seeks to create connections and improve relationships between producers and consumers, promoting a more responsible and sustainable approach to coffee consumption. Through the adoption of regenerative techniques, awareness-building, and collaborative efforts, the Slow Food Coffee Coalition aims to shape a future where coffee represents positive change and shared responsibility. It is an inclusive network open to people from different backgrounds and expertise who want to make a significant impact together. The coalition participates in international partnerships and coalitions, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. The Slow Food Coffee Coalition has established Slow Food Communities linked to coffee production in various countries, including Uganda. These communities work towards implementing sustainable practices and promoting good, clean, and fair coffee. Participatory Guarantee Systems (PGS) are used to identify coffee that meets the criteria of being good, clean, and fair.
