The Slow Food Cooks Alliance is a global network that unites cooks and chefs from diverse backgrounds in preserving biodiversity, supporting small-scale producers, and promoting fairer and more sustainable food systems. The Slow Food Cooks Alliance in Uganda aims to connect cooks with small-scale producers, food activists, and consumers. It encourages cooks to use products from Slow Food initiatives such as Presidia projects and the Ark of Taste, as well as local and traditional food and techniques in their kitchens. Through incorporating local ingredients into their menus, the cooks give visibility to the work of small producers and contribute to the preservation of food biodiversity. The Alliance provides a platform for cooks to share techniques, experiences, and educational formats related to sustainable cooking practices and agroecology. Cooks from different regions and countries come together, participate in events, and collaborate on cooking initiatives. The network fosters collaboration, friendship, and solidarity among its members.
